Source transparency: All information on GTA 6 Vault is sourced from Rockstar's official trailers, press releases, and Take-Two investor communications. Sections that go beyond confirmed facts are clearly labelled as our own analysis.

Where to Preorder GTA 6

GTA 6 is available to preorder at all major physical and digital retailers. The safest approach is to use a retailer that doesn't charge until the game ships — this gives you flexibility if release dates or edition details change before launch.

Physical retailers currently taking preorders include Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, Walmart, and Target in North America; GAME, Argos, and Amazon UK in the United Kingdom; and regional equivalents across Europe and Australia. Digital preorders are available through the PlayStation Store and the Xbox / Microsoft Store.

Confirmed Launch Platforms

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed GTA 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game was built from the ground up for current-generation hardware. There is no last-generation (PS4 or Xbox One) version planned.

A PC version has not been officially announced. Based on GTA 5's release history — which arrived on PC approximately 18 months after the console launch — a PC release is widely anticipated, but Rockstar has made no official statement on this. We will update this article if that changes.

Officially Confirmed Editions and Prices

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed two editions of GTA 6 at launch: the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. Both are available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

At $79.99, GTA 6 is priced above the $69.99 that was standard for the previous generation — following the industry move to higher price points for current-gen titles. The Ultimate Edition at $99.99 includes additional content beyond the base game. The exact contents of the Ultimate Edition will be detailed in Rockstar's official edition breakdown, which we will link here when published.

Standard Edition vs Ultimate Edition

The Standard Edition ($79.99) gives you the complete GTA 6 base game on your chosen platform. The Ultimate Edition ($99.99) adds extra content on top — whether that is in-game currency, exclusive vehicles, early access bonuses, or cosmetics has not yet been fully itemised by Rockstar.

We will update this section the moment Rockstar publishes the official edition contents breakdown. Until then, if you are unsure which edition to choose, the Standard Edition is the safe pick — you can always upgrade later if the Ultimate Edition extras prove worthwhile.

Should You Preorder?

Preordering makes sense if you are certain you want the game on day one and you are using a retailer with a free cancellation policy. Amazon (US) only charges when the item ships, for example, which means you can cancel at any point before release. This secures your copy without financial risk if the release date moves.

The main reason to wait: the exact contents of the Ultimate Edition have not been fully confirmed yet. If Rockstar announces exclusive bonuses after you have already preordered the Standard Edition, you may want to switch your order. Check your retailer's cancellation policy before committing.
