GTA 6 Release Date, Price & Platforms — Everything Officially Confirmed by Rockstar
Source transparency: All information on GTA 6 Vault is sourced from Rockstar's official trailers, press releases, and Take-Two investor communications. Sections that go beyond confirmed facts are clearly labelled as our own analysis.
Official Platform Announcement
Rockstar Games confirmed GTA 6 as a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S exclusive at launch. No PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, or PC versions have been announced. The game is built natively for current-generation hardware.
This was stated in Rockstar's official press materials accompanying Trailer 1 in December 2023 and reaffirmed in communications around Trailer 2 in May 2024.
Official Release Date: November 19, 2026
Take-Two Interactive confirmed November 19, 2026 as the GTA 6 release date in their fiscal year earnings communications. This is on a Wednesday, which is an unusual release day choice — most major games launch on Friday. No explanation for the midweek choice has been given.
The release date has been reconfirmed in subsequent Take-Two earnings calls. It has not been moved since its announcement. We will update this article immediately if any official delay or change is announced.
Official Pricing
Standard Edition: $79.99 USD — Full base game on your chosen platform.
Ultimate Edition: $99.99 USD — Includes the base game plus additional content. The specific contents of the Ultimate Edition have not been fully detailed by Rockstar yet. We will update this section when the full edition breakdown is published.
GTA 6 is priced at $79.99 — $10 above the $69.99 that became standard for PS5/Xbox Series X launches. This follows the price increases announced by other major publishers in recent years.
No PC, Switch, or Mobile Announcement
As of writing, GTA 6 has not been confirmed for any platform other than PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PC release date, no Switch version, and no mobile announcement. These may be announced in the future — Rockstar's history with GTA 5 included a significant PC release — but nothing is official.
What Take-Two Has Said Publicly
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has described GTA 6 as targeting "the highest quality in the history of the company" and has expressed confidence in the November 2026 release window in public investor calls. These statements are on record and reflect the publisher's official position.
